Privacy Policy

We never sell, rent, trade or exchange donor lists. We do not share donor names, mailing addresses, email addresses, phone numbers or donation amounts with other nonprofits, political organizations, advertisers, list brokers or commercial partners.

Donor information is seen only by One Generation Away staff and by the service providers who process a gift or deliver a communication on our behalf. Those providers may use the information only to perform that task for us.

Federal law requires us to disclose the donor schedule of our Form 990 to the IRS. Donor names and addresses on that schedule are not made public, and the copies of our Form 990 that we provide on request have that schedule removed.

We collect information in three ways.

Information you give us. When you make a donation, sign up for a newsletter, register for an event or write to us, we receive what you enter: typically your name, email address, mailing address, phone number and the details of your message or gift.

Information collected automatically. Like nearly every website, our web host records standard request data such as the IP address, browser type, referring page and the time of the request. This is used to keep the site running and secure.

Information from our payment processor. When a gift is completed, our donation processor reports to us the donor name, contact details and the amount, so that we can acknowledge and record the gift.

We use the information you give us to acknowledge and record donations, to issue receipts and year-end tax summaries, to answer your questions, to send you the material you asked for, and to report to the IRS as the law requires.

We do not use your information for any purpose you did not ask for, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.

Online donations are processed by DonorPerfect. Card and bank details are entered on DonorPerfect’s own secure form and are handled by DonorPerfect under its own privacy and security terms. One Generation Away does not store your card number.

This site does not set advertising cookies and does not run third-party advertising or behavioral tracking scripts. If we add a website analytics tool, it will be one that reports aggregate traffic, and we will say so here.

Our other sites, LibertyNation.com and GenerationLiberty.com, are separate publications with their own privacy notices. Read the notice on the site you are using.

We send email only to people who gave us their address. Every message we send includes a way to unsubscribe, and unsubscribing takes effect for all of our mailings.

We take reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect the information you give us, including limiting access to the staff who need it. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Our sites are written for a general audience and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, write to us and we will remove it.

You can ask us at any time to tell you what information we hold about you, to correct it, to stop contacting you, or to delete your record, except where we are required to keep it for tax or accounting purposes. Write to scott@onegen.org or call (703) 759-7500.

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted on this page with a new date. The commitment not to sell or share donor information will not change.
